The principal goals of this program are to advance fundamental knowledge and innovations in the nanomanufacturing of semiconductors.

 Research needs generally fall into the following five categories:

• Patterning
• Frond-End Processes
• Back-End Processes
• Common areas
• ESH (Environment, Safety, and Health)
