The IALC will accept research proposals for FY2010 on the theme: Soil and Water Resources Development & Conservation, and May Include Their Social Dimensions, in Arid and Semiarid Lands
The International Arid Lands Consortium (IALC) is an independent nonprofit organization dedicated to exploring the problems and solutions unique to arid and semiarid regions. IALC promotes cooperative research and practical application of new knowledge to develop sustainable ecological practices. The IALC member institutions share a mission to enable people of arid lands to improve the quality of life for future generations.
The 9 IALC Member Institutions are: The University of Arizona; Desert Research Institute, Nevada; the Higher Council for Science & Technology – Jordan; The University of Illinois; the Jewish National Fund; the Ministry of Agriculture and Land Reclamation – Egypt; New Mexico State University; South Dakota State University; and Texas A&M University–Kingsville.
The maximum TOTAL funding level for any single research proposal is $86,000. The duration of
research projects can span up to 24 months.
