MOST: Infrastructure Research on the Israeli Population Preparedness for Earthquake (PE)

Research proposals to deal with the Israeli population preparedness in case of earthquake. Funding: up to 200,000 NIS for projects of one institution and 400,000 NIS for joint projects of 2 institutions or more, over a 3 years period. Total allocation for this program is 1M NIS. Requested topics:
1. Prevalent perception of the Israeli population regarding preparedness to cope with a severe earthquake and its consequences
2. PE at the individual, familial, local and national level. Detecting the factors that may improve it.
3. Challenges and opportunities that may arise from public involvement in PE
4. Factors influencing the populations' knowledge on PE
5. Long range Post-Earthquake restoration - Analysis of challenges and opportunities
6. Solidification of methods and perceptions for promoting public PE
7. Evaluation of different means of earthquake alarms (alarm, beeping, calling etc.), which is the most effective and proper mean.
8. Examining the legal aspects of PE, response and restoration after an earthquake
9. Development of economic damage evaluation methods, both direct and indirect, following a major earthquake in Israel
10. Estimation of casualty rates (body and mind) as a consequence of earthquakes
