European Clearing House for Open Robotics Development

Name: European Clearing House for Open Robotics Development
Application deadline: 30/04/10
General description:

ECHORD (European Clearing House for Open Robotics Development) FP7 funded project is announcing a new call for proposals.

Objective:
ECHORD (European Clearing House for Open Robotics Development) is a new EU-funded project aiming to strengthen the cooperation between scientific research and industry in robotics. Europe has a very strong robot industry and there is significant research potential as well as technological knowledge.

In the context of ECHORD, small-scale projects, so-called “experiments” (small technical research projects), will be conducted, which will use state-of-the art robotic equipment.

Outline:
Three scenarios have been defined that represent the expected use of state-of-the-art robot technologies in the near future:
1.    Human robot co-worker scenario
2.    Hyper-flexible cells scenario
3.    Cognitive factory scenario

This call for experiment proposals targets the second scenario, hyper-flexible cells. However, proposals focused on the other two scenarios may be submitted.
