General description:	Supports molecular-biological investigations of those diseases which are caused to an important extent by genetic defects. The following projects are assigned preference: * Functional analysis of genes for monogenic and complex genetic illnesses * Establishment and evaluation of cell and animal models for the study of genetic illnesses * Analysis of predisposing genes or genes which modify illnesses The Foundation puts special emphasis on the support of young scholars.
