Faraday Institute: Uses and Abuses of Biology - grants programme and essay competition

Contemporary non-scientific uses and abuses of biological thought (beneficial, benign or negative) in the domains of philosophy, the social sciences, the media, religion and politics. Projects should address the ways in which biological ideas, either deliberately or indirectly, shape perceptions, policies, strategies, theories or presuppositions in these various domains. Funding: grants will be awarded for 1-2 years and a maximum of two years and will typically fund a postdoctoral investigator plus some research and conference fees.
