Alpha-1 Foundation: Research grants (LOI)

Funds various types of awards:

Bridge Grant: Supports AAT-related research projects that have been submitted to and approved by the NIH but cannot be supported by the available NIH funds. Funding: up to $25K for 1 year.

Career Development Grant: Aimed specifically at facilitating the establishment of a career in biomedical research for physician-scientists, is intended to continue his/her commitment to a cure through investment in the careers of junior physicians engaged in Alpha-1research. Funding: up to $100K/year for 3 years.

Pilot and Feasibility Grant: Aim to encourage the development and testing of new hypotheses and/or new methods in research areas relevant to AAT Deficiency. Funding: up to $75K for 1 year.

Postdoctoral Research Fellowship Grant: Aim to to provide support for postdoctoral research fellows who intend to pursue a career in AAT research. Funding: up to $75K/year for 2 years.

Research Grant: Aim to encourage the development and testing of new hypotheses and/or new methods in research areas relevant to AAT Deficiency. Funding: up to $100K/year for 2 years.

Scientific Meeting Sponsorship Grant: up to $5K

Travel Grant: up to $1K.
