GIF - German-Israeli Foundation for Scientific Research and Development
GIF supports cooperative research projects of mutual interest to the Federal Republic of Germany and the State of Israel. The projects shall concern science and technology for peaceful purposes only. Both basic and applied research projects in all areas will be considered equally with no predetermined quotas.
Applicants should be aware that the Foundation is only able to fund a relatively small number of new projects every year.

Regular progrma Submission Cycles:
Applications in the GIF Regular Program are accepted in alternating submission cycles. Next calls will be:
2012: Life Sciences, Medicine, Social Sciences;
2013: Exact Sciences: Physics, Chemistry, Material Sciences, Technology (Engineering), Mathematics, Computer sciences, Geo-Earth and Environmental Sciences. Humanities: History, Archaeology, Literature, Philosophy and related fields.

GIF projects shall concern science and technology for peaceful purposes only. Both basic and applied research projects in all areas will be considered equally with no predetermined quotas.

The Young Scientists Program is open for submissions in all academic fields each year.
