FAMRI’s primary focus is on tobacco smoke studies, and their primary interest is to support areas of investigation related to translational and clinical research, as well as to have direct application to early detection, prevention, treatment, and cure of respiratory diseases caused by tobacco smoke exposure. The following topics are germaine: stem cell biology, microbiome involvement, inflammation, and immunology. $100,000 per year/3 years.
- Young Clinical Scientist Award-Fellow Program: purpose is to support new clinical investigators to begin their careers as independent researchers in the field of smoking-related disorders: new technologies for early diagnosis of secondhand tobacco-caused illnesses and novel therapies to cure these diseases, and to provide a bridge between the laboratory and the clinic to enable the critical translation of basic research findings into diagnostic and therapeutic approaches. $75,000 per year/2 years.
- Young Clinical Scientist Award-Faculty Program: purpose is to support new clinical investigators with the beginning of their careers as independent researchers in the development of young researchers in the field of smoking related disorders in: new technologies for early diagnosis of secondhand tobacco-caused illnesses and novel therapies to cure these diseases, supporting areas of investigation related to translational and clinical research as well as to have direct application to early detection, prevention, treatment, and cure of respiratory diseases caused by tobacco smoke exposure. $100,000/5 years.
